Yesterday, was a concert I have waited six years to attend. It was worth it! Enforcer is a band I heard many moons ago. I got this Speed Kills comp and I was blown away by the songs that were from their demo.. Then I remember hearing “Diamonds” (which at the time was a new release) and loving it. I remember when “Death by fire” came and out also last year they released a masterpiece known as “From Beyond”. Also, they put out the epic live record “Live by fire” so Enforcer have the songs to prove they are a force to be reckoned with. So for two days I’ve been pretty much listening to just Enforcer. When the day came it almost didn’t seem like this could be happening. So I headed to LA from Riverside County picked up some friends and dealt with traffic. Before I went into the venue I met the bassist Tobias and he signed my merch which was really cool of him. When I got into the venue Exmortus was playing and I heard them play a couple of songs. They are very talented musicians and also are great at playing solos not bad but it didn’t totally click with me.
Enforcer set up really quick no more than 15 minutes after Exmortus. During that time I made it to the front row. Then they started off the mayhem with“Destroyer” and it was amazing. It sounded so good the whole crowd went insane at that point. Just headbanging and fistbanging. I think a pit broke out. But I really couldn’t tell because everyone was moving and being pushed. When they played “Undying Evil” the whole crowd was singing along and you could feel the speed and power! “Mesmerized by Fire” just kept this heavy metal machine rolling and blowing away the crowd. Olof said "We are Enforcer from Sweden! We are here to break your necks and crack your skulls" They more than accomplished their task and I was enjoying every second of it! Enforcer was just totally kicking our ass. “From Beyond” slowed down the pace a bit. But people were singing along and the energy was electric. It was infectious actually. They also played “Scream of the Savage” and “Take me out of this nightmare” which are fan favorites. “Below the Slumber” is really amazing live. It starts off a lot slower but breaks into just neckbreaking riffs..
Then they came back for an encore and played one of their best songs… “Katana”!!!!!! I can’t get enough of that songs the vocal lines the guitar solos. Then they played “Run for your life” and ended off the concert with “Midnight Vice”. It was just an amazing set. After the set I was able to meet Olof and he signed my merch and I got a picture with him. I also met Joseph Tholl and I think he was shocked I had some Black Trip albums for him to sign he was cool and signed my stuff and I got a picture with him. I really hope they come back soon because they totally kicked my ass and I think this may be the best show of the year! I left a little bit after the headliner started playing because my ride had to go to work the next day so I can’t comment on the headliner. However, you can catch Enforcer on the rest of the tour! DON’T MISS IT!
