Enforcer is a heavy metal band from Sweden. Now, these guys have released great records. Their last album Death by fire was amazing and I wondered if they were going to top that album? Now, with from beyond is still an Enforcer record. However, it’s a total different beast from Death by fire. Not that there super different but there is a difference. So let’s get more into depth about that!
The first song “Destroyer” starts the album off on a high note and it’s quite a speedy song and I really enjoyed it. The audio on youtube does not do this song justice. WOOOHHHOOO UNDYING EVIL!! Oh man this song is so catchy. Ever since this released on youtube I was totally addicted! The vocal performance and in the middle of the part right before the solo is awesome. Also, the solo is amazing as well. “From Beyond” slows the tempo up quite a bit and it’s more atmospheric compared to the other songs but it’s still great. I think the chorus is really good and has a nice melodic guitar work.
“Below The Slumber” is another stand out track. It starts out quite slow but once the riff kicks in the pace picks up and it takes you on a musical trip with slow parts, fast parts and just some great guitar work throughout the whole song. I really hope they play this song live when they tour the U.S! "Hungry they will come" isn't one of those minute intro instrumentals. This is a instrumental you can recall from songs like Transylvania, Losfer words (big 'orra). The guitar’s, drum’s, bass is just so good. “Mask of Red Death” is another great track. If I’m correct the story is from the poem “The Masque of the Red Death”. This is another song that I really hope they play live I think it would sound epic.
This album is more melancholic than Death By Fire. I think that album had more speedy moments were this one is a mix up of things. Which I think is great. Also, the artwork rules as Olaf said “No, photoshop bullshit”. I think this album will become a classic. This is one of the best records from Sweden I have heard in the long time the two others being Portrait – Crossroads, and Black Trip – Goin’ Under. I think this album and those two could be in the same league as classics such as The Somberlain and Storm of the Lightsbane. Pick up this album or face the mask of red death!
