Horacle is a heavy metal band from Belgium. A friend of mine introduced me to Slaughter Messiah so while I was on the metal archives I saw the Bassist/Singer was in Enthroned (a cool black metal band) and Horacle. So I checked out Horacle on youtube and I was immediately hooked. It was just great heavy metal so I knew I had to get my hands on something by this band. I did some further research and got in contact with the singer Terry and he hooked me up with a copy. So I was really excited to get this in the mail. Man, this is a really good album and I hope more people will get to hear it.
The first song Premonition is an instrumental but it’s a great opener to Carnage Stallion which will get your headbanging! Dang, the guitars in this song are just great. The vocals are very powerful and the bass sounds great as well. Carnage Stallion has that old school speed/nwobhm sound that is just super catchy. One of my favorite on this album for sure. No Resistance starts off with a great drum and bass opener before getting into an awesome riff. Passage to Eternity is an instrumental. It’s 5 minutes long but it’s not boring in the least. The guitar solos in this song are great. Some parts remind me of Maiden and others very early Helloween which is a very nice touch. The last two songs Awakening of Crimson Shelter and The Hounds (wicked child) are both the two longest songs on the album but they totally rip. This album is all killer and no filler!
This album is chock full of great riffs and all the instruments sound really good and the vocals sound great as well. I thought the production is good it keeps it raw and organic and not too polished but the instruments are audible and it's not to muddy or anything. I hope more people will hear this album because it deserves people to be giving this a listen. Hopefully, it gets the vinyl treatment because I think it’s great. One thing I like is that there is a bit of early speed metal like Helloween, Liege Lord, and Attacker mixed in which I think it sounds great. So I totally suggest picking up this album. Cheers to Belgian metalheads! Cheers to Terry! Cheers to Horacle!!
