6 albums you probably didn't hear about that you should have!
2015 has had a lot of good releases. You can probably search for "the best metal albums of 2015" and find a ton of stuff. Now here’s some albums you most likely won’t find on your blabbermouth or metal injection and such. These albums are all either independatly released or done by very small labels. But that doesn’t really matter because all of these albums rule! I totally suggest all of you check out these bands and order the album(s)!

Breitenhold – The Inn of Sorrowing Souls: is classic speed/power in the vein of early Blind Guardian. The riffs on here!! My goodness it’s just so good.. Like seriously Ced inspires me to practices more. He’s just a really good musicians and is an album making machine! His more popular band Rocka Rollas just released a new album as well. If you like Running Wild you’ll like his band Blazon Stone. Back to Breitenhold it’s pretty much that album you’ve been dreaming that Blind Guardian would one day come back and make. If I had to compare and which one I prefer the newest Blind Guardian or this one. It’s a no brainer… BREITENHOLD!! (not that the new Blind Guardian is bad) So if you like fast and melodic riffing with awesome solos. Especially, if you’re looking for that speed/power metal you have probably just found an album you’re going to really enjoy!

Vänlade – Rage of the Gods: Vanlade is from Kansas City. I have to give a shot out to Vic from Vindicator for the heads up on this band. He posted a link to a teaser for this album and their kickstarter. So I pretty much had only heard the teaser and figured what the heck let’s take a chance. Then in September the album got released and when I finally got this in the mail I was blown away. It really exceeded my expectations. Just classic heavy metal in the vein of Riot, Judas Priest, Saxon. Songs like “Hail the protector” are just so kick ass! “Hellrazor” is another kick ass song. Just a sick album. I was able to see this band live when they came through So.Cal and they were really nice and cool guys! So check em out and HAIL THE PROTECTOR!

Cloven Altar – Demon of the night : Is more in the melodic heavy metal which focuses on solos and melodies. Cloven altar is a really cool band. With Dustin who is in the United States and in the band Grim Deeds and CED who is in Sweden and is in Blazon Stone, Rocka Rollas and many other bands. I can't believe I was in the thanks list of this album. Which is an honor. It's a kick ass album. Chock full of melodic riffs and hooky songs. It’s leaning more on the power metal side compared to the EP. I think Dustin and CED have worked to create a really awesome album. You have to tip your hat to CED for his work with the awesome production and awesome guitar work. Also, Dustin has really out did himself in the songwriting department and I think his vocal performance is really good and better here than it was on the EP.
Also, what’s the difference between a Demon of the night and a Night Demon?
*You can check out the full review here and the interview with both CED and Dustin.

Horacle – Dead Eye Revelations: Horacle is a heavy metal band from Belgium. A friend of mine introduced me to Slaughter Messiah so while I was on the metal archives I saw the Bassist/Singer was in Enthroned (a cool black metal band) and Horacle was his new band. I got in contact with Terry (the singer) and he sent me this CD and man it’s such a good album. If you like nwobhm mixed with early speed metal and USPM like Helloween, Liege Lord, and Attacker all mixed in which I think it sounds great. Also, you got some killer guitar solos and some Maiden inspired leads and such. So I totally suggest picking up this album. Cheers to Belgian metalheads! Cheers to Terry! Cheers to Horacle!! (Another band on the list to interview as well. Hehehehe)

Ironsword – None but the brave: This is probably more known than some of the other albums but I still had no idea about this album until a friend from Portugal said to check this out. Wow, how did I not know about this band? It’s a shame bands like this get overlooked due to that they put out some really good stuff. This band has been playing since the 90’s and until literally a few weeks ago I had never heard of them. Some people will say off the bat oh it’s just a Manilla Road clone but they are definitely inspired by Manilla Road they have their own sound. “Forging the Sword” is such an awesome song and one of my favorites is “The Usurper” the whole album is just pure heavy metal steel!

Witch Blade --Oskuldernas Eld: Witch Blade is a Swedish band (They must put something in the water their!). This album is just really raw nwobhm type of heavy metal (no complaints here!). IT also sung all in Swedish which I find very enjoyable. I've always liked when band sing in their native tongue it one makes it stand out and it also sounds really cool. So on this album you got just alot of old school influences like (early) Angel Witch, Sortilege, and so on. So once again another great album from Sweden. Raw and Evil heavy metal! (Also, another band on the interview wish list)
