“Still the Elite” is a great way to start off the record and it sums up Gehennah’s attitude! They are still the elite and they’ve come to wring your neck. “Life Metal must die” is a great follow up and you can hear the Motörhead influences. Not like that’s a problem because Gehenah’s music is kept dirty, raw, and obscene! I can’t find anything wrong with that! “Too Loud To Live, Too Drunk To Die” is bad ass a total headbanger and filled with great riffs! This song on the first listen got me fistbanging and headbanging, what else do you need?
“Scumbag” is probably one of my favorite songs. Yes, the music kicks ass but lines like “Waking up on the couch with empty beer cans everywhere my place hasn’t been cleaned in years but I’m too lazy to care.” Seems to kind of sum up my current situation.. Because I’m a scumbag! Just let Gehennah destroy your life... “Cause We’re a Street metal band” sums up musically what Gehennah is all about speed, aggression and put on this earth only to destroy. “All of the Decadence and none of the success” is an excellent song to end this album off. Gehennah may not be doing world tours but to me they are legends in my book. Respect to a band keep it real through all these years.
The biggest difference I would say from this album compared to the older ones is it’s a bit more rock n’ roll solos and riffs that have always been there. This time around it just seems a bit more prevalent. Also you have Knuckleduster (new member) writing songs as well. Stringburner, Mr. Violence, Hellcop, and Knuckleduster released a great slab of metal and it’s going to be in my top 5 of the year easily. Also, something I really like about this album is the rawness of it. If my memory serves me right they pretty much recorded this album live and you can hear that. In the age of triggered drums and such this is quite the opposite and I really like that. So pick up this album you will not be disappointed!
