I was very glad to see that BAT and Savage Master would be playing this show. Since I wouldn’t be able to attend the other shows they would be playing in California. So before going to the venue I hit up a record store and store mixed with CD’s and movies kinda like FYE. So I found a cheap CD there then headed to the venue. I actually didn’t really watch the opening bands due to I was talking with a friend and I was just waiting for BAT and Savage Master. So once BAT was starting to get ready I went into the venue hall. While I was waiting I started to talk to Brandon the bassist of Savage Master and he was really cool to talk to. Then BAT came on and everyone got into it they kicked it off with Code Rude and the mayhem begun. I was standing in the front row headbanging then I get pushed onto the stage. There was this one guy who was being the cliché “mosh pit douchebag” so me and multiple other people had to deal with him for the rest of the BAT set. They played some new songs one of my favorites was “Wings of Chains” which I thought was a damn good song. They also played a Venom cover. That song being “Live like an angel, die like a devil”. I was really excited to hear “Cruel Discipline” which is from their latest 7” and it totally rules. The whole set was filled with a great performance by BAT and some Ryan Waste humor. They ended it with the song "BAT". It was a great way to end a great set. I hope to see them again.
Once BAT was done they started to get the stage ready for Savage Master. I had heard a few songs and I was interested in seeing them. But overall I didn’t know really what to expect. So the band came out and it was like a minute of eire guitar reverb and then Stacie comes out and they start with the “Ripper in Black” and man they just started to rip. It was really, really good. Another really good song was “Mask of the devil” I really liked the crazy vocal style during parts of that song. At one point during the set the singer whipped the bassist. I don’t know of that’s usually part of their live performance but at least this time it was. The whole band was tight and they gave it a 100% and I really hope to see them again. At one point the singer came out into the crowd which was really cool. They ended the set with “Swords and Tequilla”. After the show had ended I talk to Ryan for a bit got some stuff signed. I was really hoping to pick up a CD or a Vinyl from Savage Master but they told me they had sold out. So I guess I’ll have to track down a copy online. So this was a really good show one of the best shows of the year in my opinion. I am glad I got to see these two great bands.
