In the night/early morning hours into Saturday Girlschool came back to the whiskey a go go after 32 years! Let's just say I never would have thought I would ever see Girlschool unless I made it to a festival in Europe. Obviously I was wrong and they came here to teach LA how to rock.
I got to the venue around 11:45 because I was told beforehand Girlschool was going to go on at midnight. When I got there the opening band Crucified Barbara was still playing but I only caught a few songs from their set. Then around 12:45 Girlschool comes on. And wow they open up with "hit and run". The crowd went nuts. Then the next song my favorite "C'mon lets go" sounded amazing live. They sounded really tight. From the live videos I have seen before hands they still/did bring the goods live.
Mid set they played three new songs from a new ep they said they are releasing called "Propaganda" I don't know if these songs are going to be on the new album. However, I enjoyed em.
They ended off on classic tracks being Yeah right and Emergency. Really, they sound great and I thought they were really tight. I can only imagine how they were back in 1982. Catch em on their last remained tour dates you will not be disappointed.
