Bat is back with a new single! Cruel discipline, this song starts off with a girl moaning in ecstasy. The riff kicks in and it’s just catchy reminds me of an awesome Tank riff. Ryan waste vocals just really fit the music. The band sounds really tight here. Definitely not technical wankery but they sounds great. There is some cool bass work if you really listen. Rule of the beast is from their demo which they released on cassette. This is a re-recorded version. I think it sounds great.
This whole single definitely has a punk and rock n roll attitude. The songs are shorts but catchy and they are head bangable which is the most important thing for me. The vocals are gravely whiskey fueled type vocals you would find on Motorhead, Venom, or Warfare album. I wouldn’t say this is metal punk or anything like that just more in the vein of those bands stated above. I was lucky enough to get mine on red vinyl and I pretty sure it’s sold out now but you can still download it from their bandcamp.
This single will definitely make some ear drums bleed and whip you into submission because it’s cruel discipline!
9/10
